Why Do I want to Represent You on the School Board?
Birmingham School District has an ACAP score as of 2024 of 74. ACAP is the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program. It test children in public school systems from the 2-8 grade it basically checks to see if students are meeting their bench marks at each grade level. All indications are that Birmingham as a whole is improving. However most schools in District 4 are still failing: Hudson is failing, Smith Middle School is failing, Inglenook is failing, and although Hayes is not directly in our district our children attend Hayes and it to is failing. As your board representative I will work diligently to insure the schools in district 4 are performing in the top percentile of all schools in the Birmingham area. I know they can improve and we will instill an attitude of continuous improvement. Finally I believe that as your representative I should not only represent but also report what is going on in our school system. This I promise I will do.
